How long does it take to spend £95,000 on upgrading a clubhouse?
Well it needs to be done promptly if it to be open for the next sailing season, so it has all been done in just 100 days at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club.
What have they got for that investment?
* Conservatory extension that doubles as a classroom for the Sailing Training Centre;
* Decking outside provides an area with seating for viewing the sailing;
* Central heating installed throughout meaning that the club can now be used earlier and later in the year;
* Updated ladies and gents changing rooms with improved showers, flooring, lighting and furniture
SBSC obtained £75,000 of the £95,000 cost as a grant from Sport England, only made available because the club has a fine record for training new sailors of all ages and abilities, and encouraging participation in the sport.
Commodore Adrian Tebbutt said: “We would really like to thank all our contractors for making it possible to open the club for 2016 looking so great.”
They are: PCL Contractors who did the external works and were the principal contractor; RTC Builders who did the internal works; King’s Lynn Glass & Trimming Ltd for the conservatory; AMA who provided aggregates and fencing and skips; Supreme Carpets who installed the new floors
