Another big field of cars is expected at the Adrian Flux Arena this Sunday (noon) when the 1500cc Banger Icebreaker takes place.

The Unlimited version of the event was hugely successful on both sides of the fence a fortnight ago and with more than 150 cars booked for battle this Sunday another great meeting is in prospect.

The Swaffham based Garrod brothers of Terry, Ashley and Jack have been in great form in the 1500cc Bangers this year with Terry clinching the 1500cc Banger National Championship for the third successive year last December – the first time a driver has won the event three times in its 23-year history.

Terry will also be buoyed after being crowned National Banger Driver of the Year in a vote by his peers which was announced last Saturday at the awards night.

No doubt both he and the rest of Team Jackpot will be hoping this success helps to propel the team to success this Sunday.

As well as Team Jackpot there are plenty of other teams with local representation on the night.

The Gremlins have submitted two teams which include Simon Eglen, Jake Burgess, Paul Jackson, Jason Farthing (all Lynn), Daniel Bear (Fakenham) and Lewis Godfrey (Heacham).

Kieran Bowman, Robert Betts and Joel Allen (all Lynn) form part of the Predators team.

Long supporters of the Icebreaker, the Smurfs include the lively Ashlun Woods together with Steven Pope and Alex Smith (all Fakenham). Shaun Clarke (319, Fakenham) is part of Team Mates whilst Ashley Watkinson, Jack Goodey and Chris Loveridge are all part of a very strong SHB showing.
