On Saturday three fighters and three cornermen from Swaffham Kickboxing Academy traveled to Debenham, Stowmarket, to compete at Suffolk Showdown 3.

There was a large crowd supporting the many clubs from various parts of the country, including 40 of SKA’s own.

First up for SKA was Anna Piktal in her first fight. Once nerves settled she took control of the fight, contacting with several head kicks which took their toll on her opponent who was forced to throw in the towel after the first round, giving Piktal the win she wanted.

Julian Zalums was second out, and 46 seconds into the first round, the referee stopped the fight with a TKO in Zalums’s favour in another win for SKA.

Last up was Toddy Hargrove, fighting a different style than normal. After putting his much taller opponent under pressure from the bell, Hargrove was caught by a good punch at the end of round one, which ended the fight with a TKO in favour of his opponent.

The Academy give a big thank you to all supporters and sponsors: Necton Windmill, tattoos4skin and S & B Joinery.
