Rising bowls star Nicole Moseley, 14, has been selected for an England under-18 trial.

Moseley, known as Minnie on the circuit, will attend the trial at Rugby Thornhill Indoor Bowls Club on May 15.

The Nicholas Hamond Academy, in Swaffham, student has enjoyed an excellent season.

Last weekend, she played in the Lincolnshire under-18 county final at Boston Bowls Club where she was runner-up to Aaron Wild.

This was a tremendous achievement by the youngster who, on Sunday, will be involved in the junior triples and fours at Spalding Bowls Club.

Earlier this week, she was part of the mixed triples team which lost to North Essex in the National Federation finals at Newark.

Only last month, Moseley and her playing partner Kieran Hong Crane lost on the last end by one shot in the under-18 pairs final.

The duo were representing Spalding IBC in the McChrystal under-18 event.

This week also saw the Lynnsport IBC trio of Andy Sayer, Ian Wiley and Tom Baker in action.

Competing in the English Bowls Federation finals at Newark, the trio helped Norfolk defeat Suffolk 21-18 in their first round clash.
