Snettisham Beach Sailing Club welcomed 10 sailors for the third of this year’s Topper Traveller Series of races.
Toby Pearce and Abigail Holden came from Horning Sailing Club and Norfolk Broads Yacht Club (Wroxham), Charlotte Keys, Edward Brown and Samuel Shackle travelled from Broxbourne SC and Tim Evans and Sonia Evans made the journey from Priory SC.
Three Snettisham sailors Eva Miller, Amelia Eaton and Matthew Lloyd made up the fleet of ten.
Conditions were warm and sunny every so often, with a wind from the west south west which started light but became more interesting as the day wore on.
There were three close races.
The prize winners were: In the 5.3 rig: 1 Samuel Shackle, 2 Abigail Holden and 3 Edward Brown. In the 4.2 rig, Tim Evans: 1st place.
The Topper is the sort of boat that sailors learn to sail from the age of 8 at Snettisham, and they can expect to be taking part in some friendly racing after about 12 months.
If you want to try sailing then have a look at the opportunities on the website at www.snetbeach.co.uk and speak to Jane Leet, the chief dinghy and power instructor.
