King’s Lynn Cycling Club’s Julie Allum and Rod Wood challenged themselves on an Audax ride near Henham, Essex, 162km on Saturday with 30 other riders and described the conditions as “frequent showers and blustery winds”.
On Sunday three members rode in the Wisbech Wheelers 10 Time Trial as 34 riders competed in the Solo 10 TT. David Webster came 14th in a time of 24.04 mins.
Marcus Hopkins came 27th in 27.34, adding: “The conditions fooled all riders with a strong headwind out to the turn but very little assistance on the return leg. Added to the cold temperature it was a very hard ride for all.”
Gavin Costick came 34th in 30.35 in his first TT of the season. Winner was Daniel Bloy of Velovelocity.co.uk in 21.58.
KLCC will be starting their TT season next week on Wednesday evenings starting at Tottenhill Village Hall for riders to sign on and register from 5.45pm.
