An unbeaten century stand was key for North Runcton CC 2nd XI against Hethersett & Tas Valley 2nds in Dipple & Conway Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division Four.

The H&TV captain won the toss and chose to bat first.

A tight opening spell from D.Cubitt only saw 10 runs come off his nine overs and put pressure on the batting line up.

Opener T.Osbourne (42) was finally dismissed by Alex Rawson (2-43) and North Runcton picked up wickets at steady intervals to restrict Hethersett’s total to 158-7 off their 45 overs. Will Means was the pick of the bowlers for Runcton as he finished with figures of 3-30 off nine overs.

Rawson was promoted to open the innings and got on with the job with a quickfire 35 from 19 balls to release any pressure there was for Runcton to chase down the total.

In-form George Rawlings (56*) and glue of the team Anthony Dobing (52*) put together an unbeaten hundred stand to ensure Runcton won by a comfortable nine wickets and go fifth in the table.
