Have your say

The last round of the Norfolk Junior League took a team of young West Norfolk SC swimmers on a trip to Wymondham for a fast and furious evening of competition.

West Norfolk’s enthusiastic youngsters battled it out with North Norfolk Vikings, Diss Otters, Great Yarmouth and Norwich Swan in a series of races to decide the outcome of the league.

There were some fine performances from West Norfolk with wins in both the boys 9/10 yrs and 11/12 medley relays.

Harvey Isle had a very busy evening swimming up an age group to fill in for a sick team mate.

He won the 11/under 50m breaststroke and butterfly events along with the corresponding 12/under events, a great achievement against tough opposition.

Other individual winners on the night were Rhys Burrell in the 9/under 25m freestyle; Leah Wightman in the 11/under 50m backstroke; Abigail Nicholson in the 10/under 50m back and Tobias Oglesby in the 12/under 50m back.

The cannon relay provided a fitting finale with West Norfolk securing another exciting win, cheered on by some very enthusiastic supporters.

West Norfolk ran out winners on the night but were disappointed to finish just one point behind Diss Otters who won the overall league.

However, there were some fine individual and relay swims with a cheery team spirit as always.

Many thanks to all the pool staff, officials from all clubs, family supporters, and to Karl Charters for valuable assistance in team transportation.
