North Walsham Norfolk Tens Tournament

West Colts’ first game was against Southwold who turned up with a large, well-organised squad.

West as usual for their first game were slow to get going. Southwold exploited this to run in three tries. West pulled one back through Abdel Elsadawi. Final score: 5-15.

The second game was completely different as West quickly put Wymondham under pressure. From a poor lineout the ball fell to Ollie Pocket who scored from close range.

Hayden Revell made a great break only to be forced into touch. From the resulting Wymondham lineout Joshua Cant stole the ball and drove over. West’s third try was a great solo effort from Freddie Playford. Final score: 15-0.

West raised their game in their third and final game as they forced Walsham onto the back foot. John Nwaneri scored twice. Walsham pulled one back. A strong run from Playford set up George Clift for an impressive third try. Final score: 15-5. The new lads moving up to the Colts adapted well.

West Norfolk Under 15s

Over the summer West’s outstanding player Karter Howlett had been offered a much deserved scholarship to Langley School and it was with some trepidation that just the bare minimum 10 players made the hour-long journey to North Walsham.

Playing against squads with up to 30 players, the boys exceeded all expectations, tackling and defending resolutely.

Brandon Robinson marked his debut for West with some very well taken tries. Liam Mcallum, Kamen Baxter, Conor and Alex Warrington and Josh Wilson led the tackle count.

Wests narrowly lost to hosts North Walsham but beat Holt and Southwold in their other games.

Other try scorers were: Tom Hitchcock, Conor Clark, Ralph Alvarez and Oliver Spurrier.
