Pat Yates scored a century as Norfolk Cricket Alliance side Downham Town pipped hosts March Town CC 1st XI in a thrilling friendly match at The Avenue on Saturday by just three runs.
Addam Todd took all the March wickets in a superb analysis of 9-4-13-4 on a day when bat ruled ball.
Yates struck 13 fours and one six off 80 balls.

Downham’s skipper/wicketkeeper Andrew Arndt top-scored with 90.
In the field Downham 2nds were indebted to borrowed Cambs county all-rounder Gary Freear who returned 8-1-33-3 against his own club.
