Cromer 2nds 190
lost to North Runcton 2nds 202-7
by 12 runs
Leaving a soggy North Runcton behind, the club’s second team travelled to Cromer and recorded a fine win in long, overdue sunshine by bowling out the home team for 172 to win by 30 runs.
Tim Coote set the tone early on with a free-scoring fifty supported by 20 from Perry Dawson and 34 from Tom Tansley.
Runs dried up a little for Runcton until Will Lankfer evened up the final few overs with some lusty blows.
Cromer started their chase confidently and were looking good for a win until Callum Eke bowled a very tight spell, 1 for 24 off nine overs and the runs dried up.
Lankfer picked up two wickets, with three for Jack Cotton and two for Tom Chudley.
The bowling unit performed so effectively that Cromer couldn’t escape a tight leash and lost wickets in a fruitless run chase.
EOC Man-of-the-match: Will Lankfer.
Division Five
Sandringham 132-8
beat Denver 108
by 24 runs
On a damp wicket and with a slow outfield, Denver won the toss and put Sandringham into bat.
With some excellent bowling, sharp fielding and great catches Denver soon took control.
Denver had six of the Sandringham batsmen back in the pavilion with only 33 on the board, with Joe Manning producing the magnificent figures of 9-5-4-4.
This brought Jack Burton to the wicket to join Ben Melton, who together built an excellent partnership of 80.
Ben Melton was eventually caught by Dan Clifton, off the bowling of Dan Cornwell, for 45 and with Jake Burton being run-out on 34, Sandringham’s innings closed on 132-8.
Denver should really have had this game in the bag from the outset, however Sandringham bowled tightly to their field and soon had the Denver batsmen tied down.
Dan Harper showed some reliance with three sixes and two fours in a quickfire 28.
After this, the Denver wickets fell regularly with James Banham (3-12) and Jake Burton (3-25) clearing up the tail-enders.
Downham Home and Garden MoM: Joe Manning.

Narborough 118
lost to North Runcton 120-3
by 7 wickets
North Runcton seconds recorded a hard-earned win at Narborough chasing down 118 for the loss of three wickets with less than two overs to spare.
Narborough batted solidly on a slow pitch against very steady bowling and they could never accelerate as Amy Cubitt bowled through her eight overs for just 28 runs.
Cubitt was supported by Liam Martin (2-7), Callum Eke (3-30) and Nick Morgan (4-18), who all took wickets.
Runcton’s catching was excellent with David Colville and Lucas Triffitt pouching high-quality grabs.
In spite of an early setback with the loss of Alex Pigott, the visitors timed the run chase just right.
An aggressive 49 from Harvey Cross, a well-crafted 27 not out by Colville and a forthright 26 from captain Sam Major saw them home.
Brown & Co MoM: Nick Morgan.
