King’s Lynn conclude summer preparations by beating a Luton Town XI at the Walks

Gold Omotayo bagged a hat-trick as King's Lynn Town concluded an excellent pre-season with a comfortable 4-0 victory against a Luton Town XI at the Walks.

Omotayo took all three of his goals well and Bartosz Cybulski was also on target as Lynn ran their visitors ragged for much of the 90 minutes.

Adam Lakeland's side were a joy to watch against a young Luton side with their fitness and desire shining through against their Championship opponents.

In the eighth minute, Josh Hmami cut the ball back from the left, Omotayo took a swing and missed before Kian Ronan saw his shot blocked.

The hosts were given a couple of early scares before Adam Lakeland's side had two goals ruled out quickly following brilliant deliveries into the box from Hmami.

Hmami again delivered a pinpoint cross from the left for Omotayo to head Lynn in front midway through the half.

Two minutes later a move involving Omotayo and Crane saw Cybulski double Lynn's advantage on the half-volley.

Crane's centre from the right found Omotayo whose header flashed across the face of the goal as Lynn continued to hold the upper hand.

Six minutes before the break Crane and Hmami's efforts were saved by the visiting goalkeeper and there was still time for Josh McGammon to fire wide as an impressive first 45 minutes for Lynn came to a close.

Lynn went further ahead two minutes after the restart as Freddie Sass crossed for Omotayo to hammer home his second and the home side's third.

The outstretched arm of the visiting goalkeeper denied Hmami a deserved goal as the hosts continued to catch the eye with some flowing football.

Substitute Jonny Margetts - suspended for Lynn's opening two league games - almost added a fourth after picking up a loose ball and drilling wide.

There was still time for Lynn to add a fourth as teenage substitute Fin Whiteley delivered the ball on a plate for Omotayo to complete his treble.

King's Lynn Town begin their National League North season at home to Warrington Town next weekend.
