Swaffham Town Football Club name new manager
Johnny Alflatt is the new manager of Swaffham Town Football Club.
The former Pedlars assistant boss takes over in the dugout at the MG Building and Maintenance Stadium from Greg Dimsey who resigned on Wednesday.
A statement from the club last night said: “Swaffham Town Football Club would like to announce that with immediate effect Johnny Alflatt is to take on the role as first team manager and Paul Faulkner joins him as first team coach.”
On his new role, Lynn-based boss Alflatt said: “First of all I’d like to say that I feel I’m taking over the reigns from Greg, with the team in a much better place than we were 12 months ago.
“He’s done a fantastic job and one one that I hope to now build on. I’m looking forward to the challenge, we’ve built a strong squad and with a couple of additions I feel we can challenge in the top half of the table.
“I urge everyone to get behind us in what is an exciting new era for the club.”
All at Swaffham Town wish both Johnny and Paul the very best for the coming season.
Early on Wednesday, the club released a statement saying: “Swaffham Town Football Club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Greg during his year with the club.
“On behalf of the committee, club members and support staff, we wish Greg the very best of luck going forward.”
Alflatt's aim will be to help the recently-relegated Pedlars back to the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division at the first attempt.
Next season, Swaffham Town will face derbies against the likes of Downham Town and Heacham in the First Division North.
