Thurlow Nunn League strugglers Swaffham Town on the search for new boss following departure of manager

Swaffham Town Football Club are on the hunt for a new manager following the resignation of Paul Faulkner.

After spending more than a year in the hot seat at the Uncle Luke's Stadium, Faulkner has parted company with the Thurlow Nunn League Pedlars.

He stepped into the managerial breach following the departure of former boss Johnny Alflatt, who he assisted at Shoemakers Lane for more than two years.

A statement from Swaffham Town Football Club read: “Paul Faulkner, first team manager, has resigned with immediate effect due to a change in his personal commitments.

“Although it has been fair to say this season has been far from easy, Paul took a leap of faith after stepping up from assistant manager a year ago.

“On behalf of the committee and wider club community club chairman Aaron Jasper would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul for all of his hard work and efforts, wishing him all the very best for the future.

“Callum Madigan, joint manager, will continue in his role in the interim.

“The club will release further updates as they become available.”

Faulkner leaves the Pedlars with the First Division North side rooted to the bottom of the league table.

Swaffham are nine points adrift in the relegation zone, and the prospect of Anglian Combination football next season remains a distinct possibility are being spared relegation last season after finishing 19th in the table.

Former club favourite Dean Miller is one of the hames being banded with the vacant position.
