Pelicans Hockey Club were represented by four teams when they hosted the In2Hockey county finals at Alive Lynnsport.
The club entered their own under-10 and under-12 girl and boy teams at the event.
Despite the inexperience compared to some of the more long-standing visiting teams, each and every player, parent, team manager and volunteer displayed the determination, team cohesion and enthusiasm which the club prides themselves on.
The newly-formed under-10 boys team, captained by Will Chappell, worked solidly as a team throughout all of their matches.
Harriet Tearle stepped up as substitute and played three of the six matches after being left a man down.William Neave played brilliantly as goalkeeper in this, his first ever outing in the role.
The under-12 boys played five matches against other more experienced teams from across Norfolk.
There was some skilful and positive play between the team, with every member of the team working hard.
Despite not being rewarded with any wins, the boys showed determination and resilience throughout the tournament and remained positive.
Pelicans under-10 girls started off very confidently in the first game and quickly took the lead, with goals scored by Tabitha Meek and Zoe Hipperson.
Unfortunately the next three games provided more of a challenge as the team ended the day with one win and three losses.
Pelicans under-12 girls entered the tournament in good spirits.
They faced the best teams from Norfolk head-on producing some good play throughout.
The team spirit was commendable with all the girls playing with a smile on their faces.
