King's Lynn boss still harbours play-off dream after Peterborough victory
Team boss Alex Brady is still daring to dream after King’s Lynn claimed a derby victory over a Peterborough side that pushed right to the end.
Brady said of the Stars’ 46-44 A47 derby win over local rivals Peterborough on Thursday: “I said it’d be closer than people thought.
“There were a few suspect decisions tonight, I’ll be honest. Credit to these boys, they got over the line and we’ll take the three points.
“Three or four decisions I thought were not very good. I can’t say too much because I’m on a final warning from the BPSA.
“A win’s a win. People think I’m deluded but the play-offs are still on. With Wolves losing tonight we can still catch Wolves. If we win all our matches at home and get a four point victory away at Sheffield we’ll finish level on points with Wolves and it’ll come down to race points. It’s in our hands.
“A lot has got to go right. If we don’t there’ll be no lack of trying. I’m happy with the team we’ve got.”
One of the decisions Brady referred to was a tight one on Frederik Jakobsen who was excluded in Heat 11 after a 50/50 call when tangling with Benjamin Basso.
Jakobsen remarked: “A ridiculous decision is what I thought. I ran tight down the straight, tried to lean over because I'm in the front and obviously you need to turn left.
"Got taken my leg out. I could have saved it but my leg was stuck on his bike so I pretty much couldn't get my bike back and carry on.
"That's what caused the crash, otherwise I could've ridden it out. I still think it was a harsh decision."
Brady expects Jorgensen to be fit, adding to the Lynn News: "He's been feeling rough since Sunday.
"He'd be fine for running around the track but he'd have no strength.
"I'm sure he'll be fighting fit for us and I think we'll need him against Sheffield, I'm sure."
