King’s Lynn pool players gather for annual presentation evening

Premier potters from across West Norfolk needed extra pockets to carry away all their trophies after being honoured at a glitzy awards ceremony last week.

Following a gruelling season battling it out on the green baize, winners and runners-up gathered for a well-earned pint (or two) at the King‘s Lynn Pool League presentation on Wednesday evening.

In Division One, Napier A raised their game from last season’s runners-up spot to win the League Champions Cup sponsored by the Callum Pite Smile charity.

Narborough A, top of the league table for much of the campaign, narrowly missed out as Bentinck A, former league champions, rose above them on the league table with their final scorecard to take second place.

In addition to this, Bentinck A went on to win 1st place in the Plate knockout (sponsored by Dewhurst’s Trophies) against runners-up White Horse B.

Newcomers West Lynn did themselves proud.

Leading the board throughout the term they effectively won the Second Division Shield, and in a match that could have gone either way on the final frame, they won second place in the Knockout Cup.

Along with their Division Two runners-up trophies, Bentinck B were awarded a special cup in memory of their fellow team player, Kenneth Kusel, AKA Snoop, who sadly passed away this season.

Despite having had a bad season, Napier B, played exceptionally well defeating West Lynn in the final frame to win the Team Knockout Cup.

Daniel Reynoldson scored a victory for the RAF Marham team (Narborough B) winning the Singles against runner-up Bentinck A’s Ben Smith.

It was Reynoldson's second trophy in the singles category after winning second place back in 2019.

Andrew Simon and Matthew Reed (Napier B) successfully defended their title in the doubles tournament playing against runners-up Daren Adcock and Jarrod Evans (Narborough A)

Winning the Golden Break for the first time were joint winners Ash Johnson (White Horse A) and Jordan Wilson (White Hart A).

Player-of-the-Season was won by exceptional player Dave Fallen with newcomer Philip Gray (White Horse A) picking up second spot.

This season's presentation knockout prize money totalling £75 was accompanied by an engraving on the Bruce Durham Cup. It was won by Daniel Reynoldson with second place going to (Billy) William Fiander.
