Fakenham Town boss still targetting promotion from Thurlow Nunn Division One North
Promotion is still the target for Fakenham Town this year, says Clipbush Park chief Andy Cunningham.
The Ghosts, were held to a 1-1 draw at Yarmouth Town last Friday evening which leaves them 13th in the First Division North standings after 13 games.
Despite a mixed start to the season, Cunningham is confident his side have what it takes to climb the table.
Cunningham said: “We have struggled for consistency so far this season.
“We didn’t start as well as we would have wanted to but have put in some excellent performances and recorded some very good results.
“Last season, we started slowly and started to build up steam over November and December which is the crucial point of the season really with so many games and so many points to play for in such a short space of time.
“I am not getting carried away, we don’t get too excited when we win a game and we don’t get too down when we don’t get the results we wanted.
“The important thing for me, is that we have a really good group who are playing for each other and that have started to settle down.
“We need to put a run of wins together at the right time, the table is still quite tight at this early stage of the season and there is still plenty to play for.”
The Ghosts travel to King’s Lynn Town Reserves tomorrow.
“We played each other a couple of weeks back in the Norfolk Senior Cup and came out on top, so we know they will out for revenge,” said Cunningham.
Elsewhere in the First Division North, Craig Dickson and Dale Stokes will be hoping their Downham Town side can break Norwich CBS’ current purple patch when the sides lock horns at Memorial Field.
In the Premier Division, Swaffham Town will be looking to put their 3-1 defeat to FC Clacton behind them when Walsham Le Willows travel to West Norfolk.
