Fakenham claim bragging rights in Division Two Norfolk Alliance clash against Sandringham

Fakenham claimed the derby spoils in Saturday's Norfolk Alliance Division Two clash at Sandringham.

A blistering 90 from Aaron Riseborough saw the visitors post a huge 241 for 6 from their 45 overs after Sandringham and Dersingham had won the toss and elected to field.

Fakenham were powered by a sensational knock from Riseborough, who smashed 90 off 84 balls, including 14 boundaries and 3 sixes, at a strike rate of over 107.

Opener Harrison Futter laid a steady platform with a composed 43 off 92 balls, while the middle-order capitalised on the start. Harry Todd’s quickfire 36 off 25 balls (including 2 sixes), and Aaron Howell’s unbeaten 20 off 17.

Notably, Sandringham’s bowling had some bright moments.

Callum Lee, Peter Brassett, Lloyd Richmond, and Paul Ingram each picked up a wicket, but Riseborough’s innings proved decisive in the final reckoning.

In reply, Sandringham & Dersingham posted a solid score - but it wasn’t enough to stop Fakenham claiming victory by 53 runs.

Oliver Southgate anchored the home innings with a patient 49 off 80 balls, and Callum Lee, who added a brisk 46 off just 43 deliveries, including one four and three sixes.

The middle-order offered contributions through Paul Ingram (17) and Lloyd Richmond (23 not out), pushing the total towards respectability, with Peter Brassett (seven off seven balls) finishing the innings.

Fakenham’s bowlers kept things in check despite the resistance, with Liam Riseborough (two wickets), Aaron Riseborough, Aaron Howell, Hayden Lough, Charlie Page, Jack Burton, Harry Todd and Paul Lough all doing their bit to restrict the innings.

The result moves Fakenham up to second in the league standings while Sandringham and Dersingham drop a couple of places to fifth after beginning the afternoon in third.

Fakenham face another derby trip to Bircham on Saturday, while Sandringham and Dersingham are at league leaders Norwich 2nd.
