King's Lynn Stars Rising Star reserve Jack Thomas glad to be back in speedway squad before Ipswich derby
Jack Thomas is glad to be back in the King's Lynn Stars speedway squad.
The Rising Star reserve has been out of riding action since a derby fall against Ipswich Witches at home on June 9.
In Heat 4 that evening the Norwich-born racer clipped Witches rider Ben Barker – who appeared for Lynn last season – on the exit of turn two.
The aim is for the 23-year-old to return at home, ironically enough versus Ipswich, on Thursday in the Premiership.
He said: "The injuries are getting a lot better. I've had more physio and laser treatment done and the X-rays have come through and they're pretty much healed up.
"I'm just trying to get strength back in my wrists, and more movement back because I lost a lot of movement but the sooner I get back on my bike, the better."
Richie Worrall, who is now in the main body of the team, has begun working on his machinery himself, and joked: "my mechanic is gone – he was as much use as a chocolate teapot – and I've had a bit of a rejig.
"I've spent a lot of time on the bikes and gone over everything myself and found a couple of things. I'm on a much faster and better bike and I'm much happier."
