Ryston Runners pick up two silvers at county cross-country event in Norwich
Last weekend was the designated date for County Cross-Country Championships across England, and Norfolk was no exception, with its event taking place over a newly designated course at Earlham Park, in Norwich.
A small contingent of Ryston Runners took part, bringing home two silver medals between them.
These came in the seniors/masters event, both in the 35-39 category, courtesy of Ben Keeley and Dawn Robinson.
Keeley was the second Ryston finisher overall, in 21st place, headed home by Nathan Stockdale in 16th /13thSM.
Robinson was the fifth female finisher and 67th overall. Dan Yallop finished 64th/60thM/8thM40; Phil Thompson was 80th/74thM/10thM50; Tony Savage’s 150th place made him 119thM/13thM60; and Lynne Howlett in 201st was 61st//4thF65+.
Isabella McKenzie was placed seventh in the U17G race, and Madison Hicks was 12th in the U13G.
On the same day, after a month’s layoff due to bronchitis, Cath Duhig dipped her toe back in the race waters by taking part in a local charity event, the Carrer del Niño in Santiago de la Ribera, Spain.
Duhig walked in the 5k running race, and finished 201st out of 232/first F70, despite being overtaken in the last kilometre by the first four runners in the accompanying 10k.
