Marshland Saints claim cup final spoils against King's Lynn Soccer Club
North West Norfolk Football League
Division Two League Cup final
King's Lynn Soccer Club 0
Marshland Saints 0
(Marshland won 6-5 on penalties)
Marshland Saints proved spot-on as the second of last season's cup finals was contested at Fakenham Town.
The Division Two showpiece failed to produce a goal at Clipbush Park, although the game was closely contested throughout with each team creating good goal scoring opportunities from the first whistle.
As the game progressed further and further towards a stalemate, King's Lynn Soccer Club thought they had scored a decisive goal half way through the second half only for it to be ruled out for offside.
However, the game came to a close and penalties awaited.
The shootout saw both teams confidently despatching of their spot kicks until Marshland substitute goalkeeper Josh Thorpe denied KLSC's Daniel Berry.
This left Toby Killingsworth the chance to win the game and he made no mistake from the spot.
Many thanks to everyone at Fakenham Town FC for hosting the final and all supporters who attended to support the great charity cause.
Our last final sees Snettisham take on Dersingham Reserves in the Division One League Cup tonight with the game kicking off at 7.30pm.
Once again, 25 per cent of all admission fees will be donated to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Bereavement Suite Appeal and supporters are encouraged to attend.
