Former Linnet Chris Bacon starts in Snettisham derby win

North West Norfolk League

Division One Cup

Heacham Reserves 1 Snettisham 4

Snettisham travelled to Heacham Reserves at the weekend and came away with 4-1 win.

The team played some decent football at times and looked dangerous in front of goal.

After Snettisham missed a penalty, Kenny Rushton got them off the mark with a decent finish after good link-up play with Chris Bacon.

Bacon then scored himself with a lovely little chip before the home side reduced the arrears early in the second half with a tremendous strike.

Scott Deadman came back on after hurting his knee and scored a sure contender for goal-of-the-season before Danny Jezeph completed the scoring from the penalty spot.

Man-of-the-match: Chris Bacon.

Division Two

March Saracens 1 Southery ASA 2

Southery ASA completed their league campaign with a good performance against a strong March Saracens side, writes Will Jones

Goals from Dan Cook and Harry Morton were just good enough to ensure runners-up spot in the Division Two table after leapfrogging Ingoldisthorpe.

West Lynn Athletic 3

West Winch William Burt 8

In an eleven-goal thriller, it was West Winch William Burt who took the three points and finished the season strongly after several good team performances.

Braces from Jack Walker and Ryan Reynolds started the ball rolling with additional goals from Jamie Wilson, Aeron Smith, Alex Tweed and Callum McDermid.

In reply, West Lynn Athletic scored through Travis Mortimer, an own goal and keeper Grant Lever.

This was an enjoyable game for the neutral and a good advert for Sunday morning football.

Sunday fixtures

Cherrington Cup final: CSKA Emneth v Woodman’s Cottage.

Queen Elizabeth Cup final: Ingoldisthorpe v Shouldham.
