Ex-Downham pupil from Runcton Holme scoops BMZRC MZ 250cc motorcycle crown




A former West Norfolk resident has enjoyed a successful year racing in the BMZRC MZ 250cc motorcycle championship with the British Motorcycle Racing Club (BMCRC)

Andrew Wales, formerly of Runcton Holme, won an incredible 15 race wins with 10 further podium finishes from the 28-race season to take the championship by a margin of 176 points.

The championship was clinched at the penultimate round at Snetterton with the final meeting at Brands Hatch still to come.

This is the second time Andrew has won the MZ championship, the first time in 2021, with many other second and third places in the championship.

Wales was a former pupil of Downham High School and lived at Runcton Holme until he went to university.

The presentation took place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham during the BMCRC yearly awards ceremony.
