Tonight’s (August 5) King’s Lynn Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars meeting against the Rye House Raiders at the Adrian Flux Arena has been postponed.
Heavy rain is forecasted for this evening and with riders travelling from all over the country, the decision has been made early to avoid a postponement later in the day.
Stars chief Buster Chapman said: “Looking at the forecast from a number of difference providers, we are due quite a bit of rain tonight.
“Unfortunately we are left with no other option but to postpone. We don’t want another situation like last week (when the senior side’s clash with Leicester was called off after nine heats with no result declared).”
There is no re-staging date at this current time.
Team manager Dale Allitt had switched captain Scott Campos to number two in the team with Ryan Kinsley taking on a National League heat leader role for the first time in his career.
Jake Knight would have remained at number one with Shane Hazelden and Tom Stokes forming the top five. Layne Cupitt and Josh Bailey complete the side at reserve under the reshuffled arrangement.
It would have been the first time that the Raiders will have visited the Arena this season and they have a strong side, led by Rob Branford and former Young Star Kyle Hughes.
A win for the Young Stars would have moved them above Rye House and towards the middle of the table, something Allitt is looking for his side to do.
He said: “We want to move off the bottom of the table. I believe we are strong enough to do that.”
