King's Lynn Town have this evening confirmed the departure of star striker Adam Marriott.

The forward has joined National League rivals Eastleigh on a permanent basis, having scored 65 times in 99 appearances for the Linnets.

The 29-year-old has been a talisman in Lynn's remarkable rise to the elite of non-league football since joining from Boston United three years ago. His current deal was due to expire in the summer.

A statement on the Linnets' website said: "The club can confirm today, that striker Adam Marriott has joined National League rivals, Eastleigh, in a permanent transfer from The Linnets.

"The club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to Adam for all of his past efforts with the club over the past three seasons.

"Everyone at The Walks wishes Adam all the very best for the future."
