King's Lynn Stars get ready to welcome Aussie ace ahead of new season
Alex Brady is hoping fans turn out in force to welcome new Australian signing Josh Pickering at King’s Lynn next week.
The Stars boss has confirmed both Pickering and Richie Worrall will be on hand in the club function room to meet supporters at ‘an evening with’ on Thursday, March 10.
It’s the first of two big events at the Adrian Flux Arena away from the track with Stars legends Mark Loram, Tomas Topinka and Terry Betts all appearing live on Wednesday March 23.
Said Brady: “We are keen to engage with the fans more and an evening with Richie and Picko is a great way to start the build-up to the new season.
“It will be a professionally presented evening with questions and answers and there will be a chance for autographs and pictures with the guys.
“We’re having a behind closed doors team practice during the day and it will be great for everyone to get together.
“As for the evening with the legends I think it’s great for the club to have this event and it’s wonderful to see Adrian Flux actively doing this to promote the sport and to celebrate their continued naming of the stadium.”
Admission for the Pickering and Worrall night is just £5 on the door and details on tickets for the legends night are available from the website.
Meanwhile Stars hero Robert Lambert, who is missing out on another British season to race in Poland and Sweden this year, will make a rare UK appearance at the Peter Craven Memorial at Belle Vue on Monday March 21.
He will race alongside world champions Tai Woffinden and Jason Doyle in an impressive world-class line-up.
“I’m pleased to be making an appearance in the Peter Craven meeting and it would be great to see a lot of fans there,” he said.
“It will be great to race in my home land and in front of the British fans at the track where I won the Speedway of Nations last October.”
