Pedlars keep up with Thurlow Nunn League Div One North pace setters

On Saturday, Swaffham Town made it five wins from their opening six league matches after a dominant display saw the Pedlars beat Haverhill Borough 4-0 at Shoemakers Lane.

A brace from Kyle Plumb and goals from Alex Vincent and Joe Jackson secured victory for Paul Hunt’s side, who are third in the league table four points behind leaders Harleston with two games in hand on the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North’s early pace setters.

Hunt’s side are back in action this evening (Tuesday) when they welcome local rivals Fakenham Town to Shoemakers Lane, with the Ghosts looking for their second away win of the season.

Fakenham will go into the game with fresher legs than their hosts, having enjoyed a week off after falling at the first hurdle in the FA Vase away to Peterborough Northern Star ten days ago.

Swaffham Under-18’s bowed out of the FA Youth Cup 1-5 on Thursday evening. Despite a good performance they were never allowed to settle by Needham Market, who went 2-0 up in the first half.

In the second half Swaffham got onto the scoresheet through Harvey Neale. They are back to league action in midweek, with a trip to Aldiss Park, Dereham.
