Rink hockey players from Lynn boosted their Premier League title hopes with a professional and clinical performance against Manchester.

Right from the outset the team were hungry for goals and dominated possession, but were determined to defend well.

They were rewarded for finding space and generating lots of opportunities, and quickly got off to a 3-0 lead, courtesy of a slapshot from Josh Taylor, a well-placed flick from Owen Norris and a nutmeg on the goalkeeper from Taylor.

A momentary lapse in concentration allowed Manchester to score in a two-on-one situation with a clinical finish at the far post.

Lynn came back and scored three more before half-time. The first through a penalty from Jack Tucker, another slapshot from Taylor and a half volley from Jamie Griffin, assisted by Harvey Dugdale.

Goalkeeper Tom Allander, kept Manchester at bay for the remainder of the half, making saves when required as Lynn took a 6-1 lead into the interval.

Lynn’s domination continued after the restart, but it wasn’t all plain sailing though, as captain Taylor received a blue card shortly into the second half.

The trio of Norris, Bethan McCarthy and Tucker were able to hold Manchester at bay until Lynn were back to full force.

McCarthy, in her third premier league appearance, was able to bag herself her first Premier League goal with a well-placed volley into the side netting.

Tucker was able to add three more to his tally, catching Manchester sleeping with a wraparound and a long distance slapshot.

Norris assisted Tucker for his last goal, which was a far post finish into the top bin.

Taylor got the final goal of the day with another classic slapshot into the top right hand corner.

Norris secured a well deserved Captain Vancouver man-of-the-match performance with his high work rate.

The team thanks its supporters, officials, timekeepers and sponsors Tropics Two Fish and Chips and Allsigns.
