King's Lynn driver targets a trio of top results at Donington Park

Oliver Clarke is setting his sights on a trio of top results this weekend as the BRDC British F3 Championship returns to Donington Park for the second of three visits to the Leicestershire venue this year.

Following the quick-fire start to the 2020 campaign last month which saw three events take place over the course of five weeks, the Hillspeed driver has taken advantage of the recent three week break to reflect on the highs and lows of his season so far.

Showing plenty of front-running speed, the 17-year-old West Norfolk driver scored a breakthrough podium finish at Donington Park last month in treacherous conditions - underlining why he has been widely tipped as one to watch in his rookie year.

Coming off the back of a consistent showing at Brands Hatch, the Torq Racewear athlete returns to the challenging Leicestershire venue focused on returning to the sharp end of the grid and scoring a three big points finishes.

Clarke: “It’s felt like quite a long wait to get back racing after having three events in five weeks last month but it is fair to say I’m very excited to get back behind the wheel and on track.

“Whilst it has been good to have a break I’ve not taken my eye off the ball and have made sure that I’m as ready as can be when we get to Donington, be it physically and mentally.

“Going into this weekend we have the benefit of having all the data from when we raced there last month, and that can serve as a benefit to us.

“Last time we were there I picked up my first podium so I’ve got fond memories of the track.

“The aim is to qualify well; if we can be in the mix towards the front of the field then that will set us up for a strong three races - I think that is something that hasn’t always gone my way so far.

“Three big points finishes and some more silverware has to be the target.”
