Toothless King's Lynn Town lose at Bromley in the National League
Bromley 2 King's Lynn Town 0
Toothless King's Lynn Town slumped to their third successive National League defeat tonight to leave them with just one league success since the turn of the year.
The Linnets failed to muster a solitary effort on or off target until the dying minutes at Hayes Lane, where a Courtney Duffus goal in each half was good enough to hand the Ravens all three points.
Recent signing Duffus, who signed for the hosts from league rivals Yeovil last month, opened the scoring five minutes before the interval before doubling the Ravens' advantage midway through the second half.
Lynn had on-loan goalkeeper Archie Mair to thank for keeping the final scoreline at a respectable level.
The shotstopper foiled Michael Cheek at point-blank range before denying Duffus an opportunity to complete his hat-trick.
Mair was also on hand to keep out a Liam Trotter effort with his legs but Duffus, who scored against the Linnets for Yeovil on the opening day of the campaign, had already done the damage.
Substitute Dayle Southwell produced Lynn's only effort on target two minutes from time, but Mark Cousins was up to the task of keeping his effort out.
A disappointing evening was compounded with Jordan Richards, Kyle Callan-McFadden and Aaron Jones all picking up yellow cards for Ian Culverhouse's side.
It doesn't get any easier for Lynn, without a fixture at the weekend, with Notts County the visitors to The Walks next Tuesday.
