Fakenham Town, Downham Town and Heacham handed away ties in extra preliminary round of FA Cup

There have been mixed fortunes for West Norfolk sides after the draws for the early rounds of this season's FA Cup and FA Vase competitions were made on Friday.

In the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, Fakenham Town will travel to Cornard United, Heacham have been drawn away to Harleston Town while Downham Town will travel to Long Melford.

All ties will take place on Saturday, August 3.

If successful, Fakenham Town will travel to the winner of the Stowmarket Town or Histon tie two weeks later (August 17).

The winners of the Long Melford v Downham Town game will entertain Thetford Town or Ipswich Wanderers while Heacham will face a tie at either Soham Town Rangers or Mildenhall Town if they can upset Harleston.

In the FA Vase First Qualifying Round, Heacham travel to Diss with the winner from the game between Harleston and Wisbech Town awaiting them at the next stage.

Norfolk Senior Cup winners Downham Town will make the trip to either St Neots or Sheringham in the Second Qualifying Round.

Thurlow Nunn First Division North Swaffham Town have been handed a tough assignment against Thetford Town at the same stage.

Tonight, Heacham continue their friendlies with a home game against Deeping Rangers.
