King’s Lynn drivers in the thick of the action at Icebreaker meeting at Adrian Flux Arena




The last of the Lynn winter banger outings took place on Sunday.

It was the turn of the 1600cc bangers for the Icebreaker, with around 140 cars in the pits with racing also coming from the two-litre bangers racing for the first time in Icebreaker action.

All put on a solid day of banger racing with some big action and big wrecks going back home.

Number 678 Alex Ward had a great day in his Ford Focus a fourth and a seventh in the opening heat races before taking on a win in the feature final with a great drive.

He survived the opening lap spills where more than 50 cars battled including a complete track blockage in the first lap.

Ward's results help see his team through to second place in the overall points chart; in a hard-fought competition.

Racing at King’s Lynn takes another break for a few more weeks before spring arrives and the engines will roar into life until November.

The traditional stock car season opener will be on Saturday, March 1 with non-stop thrills and spills with the excellent F2 stock cars, the brilliant saloon stock cars and the always-entertaining 1300 stock cars.

The fence will rattle and the sparks will fly and there is a practice day scheduled for pre-season testing and getting in race-ready trim on Sunday, February 23.
