‘We will get even better’ – King's Lynn Town's new hero Jordan Ponticelli fires warning to National League North after scoring first goals for club

Jordan Ponticelli has warned King's Lynn Town's National League North rivals that the team will only get better after helping the club to their fourth successive win.

The 23-year-old hotshot struck twice against AFC Telford United in the second half as the Linnets turned on the style with four second half goals in a 4-0 win at the New Bucks Head Stadium.

Tyler Denton and Michael Clunan also found the back of the net as Lynn wrapped up biggest winning margin since a 5-1 home victory over Barnet 18 months ago.

And after finally opening his account for the club, the summer arrival from Wrexham believes Lynn will only improve as he develops a better understanding with the players around him.

Ponticelli said: "Training with the lads every day, I believe we can get even better.

"I still think there's a few more gears for us to go through, so if we do that I think we might be unstoppable.

"I've already got a good understanding with Goldy (Gold Omotayo). It's the big-man, little-man combination if you like and he is good in the air. We play well together and the partnership is only going to get better."

The former Wrexham frontman opened his account in Lynn colours with a dream strike from the left of the area on 62 minutes.

Eight minutes later he made it 2-0 with a finish from close range before Denton and Clunan capped an exhilarating second half display from Lynn with further strikes.

"It was definitely coming," admitted Ponticelli after finally getting off the mark.

"I think I've done the basics for the team and myself in trying to work as hard as I can the last few games.

"I'm delighted to get my first goals, especially with a good finish like that for my first, and I think the first kicked us on.

"I'm not an ugly striker by trade but I was in the right place at the right time for my second.

"The bare minimum you'll get from me is hard work. If it's not going for me then I will try to help the team as much as I can in other ways.

"I may not have scored in the first three games but it didn't matter as we won our opening three games.

"Today I've got my personal rewards and now it feels even better as it is now four wins from four and I've got a couple."

Lynn remain top of the National League North table after maintaining their 100 per cent start to the new campaign - and are the only team not to drop a point.
