West Lynn Athletic secured their first point of the season in Division One with a hard-fought 4-4 draw against an under-par Ingoldisthorpe team, writes Will Jones.

West Lynn raced into a 2-0 lead after both goals were scored from corners.

Despite some strong goalkeeping, Ingoldisthorpe hit back, but West Lynn led deservedly 2-1 at half-time. There was some end-to-end football in the second half.

West Lynn were leading 4-3 with Ingoldisthorpe down to 10 men before Dan Fuller equalised for Ingoldisthorpe to secure an incredible point from this eight-goal thriller.

Scorers for West Lynn were Steward Scott, Sam Garrod, Ash Smith and Adam Wickson.

As well as Fuller, Ben English, Arron Raven and Kyle Hitchcock found the back of the net for Ingoldisthorpe.

England’s Hope travelled to March Sunday and secured another clean sheet despite several March Sunday opportunities, which failed to find the net.

A dominant display, especially in the second period, secured the points thanks to braces from Dale Parnell and Ben Jimson and a fifth from Dean Jimson in a 5-0 scoreline.

Shouldham entertained a high-flying Woodman’s Cottage outfit, but it was Shouldham who returned to early-season form with a strong display of passing football and some strong finishing.

A hat-trick from Joseph Malby and goals from Henry Davidson and Martyn Williams secured a 5-2 home win.

In response, Ajay Jolly and an own goal completed the scoring.

Both Chilvers and CSKA Emneth were not in action at the weekend.
