Small band of West Norfolk athletes make their mark at Grand East Anglia run
A small group of West Norfolk AC runners enjoyed a great day’s racing on a chilly and windy GEAR on Sunday.
Ben Collison, running a strong race from the start, was the first home in 38.32 – his best time since 2014.
Just over a minute behind was Ben Richards in 39.33, a six-minute improvement on last year.
Neil Watson was next to cross the finish line in 40.37, his best since 2016, while Richard Dickson followed Neil in a time of 42.57.
Chairman Gavin Lane, running with a painful achilles, clocked 44.14 and was followed closely by Katrina Wasteney 44.48.
Debbie Schwarz 45.45 ran even with a cough while Rick Bailey enjoyed a great run with a four-minute PB of 49.11.
Samantha Stringer was close to her PB with 50.28 and Sharon Smalls, running for Mind, finished in 59.22.
Next two to cross the line were Lee and Poppy Tunmore in 51.34. It was Poppy’s first 10K, as it was Elizabeth Wood in 60.14, who was closely followed by Stuart Ross in 60.17.
In the Mini GEAR, Alfie Bone was the first home for WNAC followed by Jen Wood, Betty Schwarz, Annie Bastian and Charlie Tunmore.
