On a busy weekend of athletics, six West Norfolk Athletic Club athletes took part in the George Munday 10k held at Leverington by Three Counties AC.

A two minute silence was held impeccably prior to the start to remember all those who have died in conflict.

First home for WNAC was Arran Reeve with yet another PB of 34.29 to finish third overall.

Neil Stapleton recorded a massive personal best to finish 13th overall and second in his age category with a time of 37.33, and Neil Watson followed in 33rd with a season best of 41.05.

Next were a couple of new members who both PB’d on their debuts.

Jamie Copeman was 83rd in 47.46 followed closely by Lee Richardson in 85th in 48.06.

Finally, but definitely not the least, Sammy Stringer was really pleased to go sub-50 for the first time, completing the course in 49.31 to finish 100th on the day.

Meanwhile at the monthly Ryston Runners Shouldham Cross Country series, WNAC athletes both young and old took part.

In the U11 boys race, Luke Anderson finished sixth in a time of 9.20.

Meanwhile on the U13/U15 course, Rocky Dawe was first home in 12.32 to finish seventh in the U15 boys, followed closely by Henry Gosnell in 12.45 to come a fantastic second in the U13 boys.

Evie Clayton, in the U13 girls, also had a great run to come fifth in a time of 13.14.

On the 9km main course, WNAC stalwart Ben Collison finished 26th overall (eighth senior man) in a time of 35.48.

Rob Gosnell was pleased with a large improvement to finish 64th in 42.06 (10th V40 man).
