2019 stock car season bursts into life at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena
The 2019 stock car season bursts into life at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena tomorrow night with the traditional national curtain raiser.
The F2, 2L and 1300 stock cars will all be making their seasonal debuts on what promises to be a great night with big turnouts for all formulas.
Heading the action will be the F2 stock cars, who are racing in a World Championship qualifying round, whilst both the 2L and 1300 formulas will be doing battle in the Clive Grief Memorial.
A big entry of F2 stock cars sees European Champion Steve Mallinson and top Dutch star Ricardo Smidt top the billing.
Lynn brothers Scott and Rob Aldridge will both be looking to impress in the very smart cars they have for 2019.
There have been some comings and goings in the ranks of local drivers in the 2L stock cars ahead of the Clive Grief Memorial.
After winning the National Points Championship, Willie Skoyles Jnr will be undertaking a new adventure and will be seen in a BriSCA F1 stock car this season.
Returning to the ranks, though, is Jake Banwell, who has been out for a couple of years after suffering a back injury.
Banwell is actually a past winner of the Clive Grief Memorial having won the race back in 2014 and he would dearly love to repeat that success tomorrow.
He had his stunning-looking car on display at the Motorsport With Attitude Show in Peterborough a few weeks ago and turned in some impressive lap times whilst practising at Lynn last weekend, so will be full of confidence come Saturday.
Lee Sampson is having a quiet year this year and he is hiring his car out at the majority of meetings in 2019, so it is good to see that he will be out in the car himself this weekend.
Another great turnout of 1300 stock cars completes what is looking like being a spectacular night of action.
