Teenage West Norfolk driver in sublime form as he claims number one podium spot
Teenage karting star Aaron Alexander claimed maximum points at the Teesside Autodrome in the second round of the 200 Extreme Junior Pro Kart Championships.
Alexander, 13. and his dad Adam had his race kart stripped to a bare chassis last week and spent a lot of time doing changes in preparation for the weekend.
Saturday saw the KES Academy pupil get some of his best times ever in practice because of the changes and he qualified in second place, 0.002 seconds behind Harry Wilson.
Alexander made lightning starts to dominate and win all three of the heats.
After a nasty mid-pack crash, the final was restarted and Alexander held off the close attentions of Harry Wilson, who was on his bumper for much of the race, to take the chequered flag, the win and the number one podium spot.
The youngster thanks AX SUPERCARS, 24/7 Self Store King’s Lynn and Lettingsupermarket.com for their continued support with sponsorship.
