Huge performances from West Norfolk drivers at King's Lynn's Adrian Flux Arena
West Norfolk drivers enjoyed a successful weekend at King’s Lynn over the busy Easter period which saw two oval racing meetings take place at the Adrian Flux Arena.
Current Entertainer League champion Kieran Bowman gave a great performance in the Unlimited Bangers on Saturday night.
Bowman then followed it up in both the 4x4 SUV bangers and the Siamese bangers, where he paired up with Robert Betts, on Monday to take home Entertainer Awards in both classes.
Callum Gill also continued to pile up the points. In Saturday’s unlimited bangers, Gill was the best local finisher in the East Anglian Championship with fifth spot.
The trio of Ross Cooper, Russell Gill and Darren Fendley all also got top-ten finishes in the same formula with Cooper also putting on a good show for the crowd, as did Davey Cox who also took home an Entertainer Award for his efforts.
Lee Sampson secured a great runner-up finish in the two-litre stock car final to Timmy Barnes, who claimed a heat and final double. Jake Banwell also did well with his best finish since he returned to the sport this year with a third in the 25 & Under Championship of GB.
In the 4x4 SUV bangers, Bowman’s machine looked more like a micro banger than a 4x4 after a crowd-pleasing display.
Heacham’s Lewis Godfrey was also in great form and was unlucky to crash out in the final whilst battling for the lead with Wisbech driver Lee Barnes winning the final.
Bowman also did well in the micro banger craze races when he won the Le Mans start race and was third in the spin the leader final, which was won by points champion Lee White.
Callum Gill had a trio of top-four places, including a fourth in the final, whilst Ben Green and Ashley Garrod also had good places throughout the night. Ryley Freestone continued his promising form in the micro bangers by picking up an Entertainer Award with a great display before following it up with a win in the Destruction Derby.
Stock car racing takes centre stage at Lynn this Saturday (5.30pm) with a big night featuring the BriSCA F1 stock cars in a World Championship qualifying round and the two-litre stock cars in their English Championship.
Heacham’s Willie Skoyles is getting to grips with the power of an F1 stock car and since racing at Lynn last, he has qualified for finals at Mildenhall and Sheffield.
Although he missed the final at Stoke last weekend, Skoyles felt his car was going the best since his debut, while Sampson enters the 2L stock car English in fine form after his performance last weekend.
