King's Lynn Town youngsters in action after final National League fixture of the campaign
King's Lynn Town fans will have the chance to get a glimpse of the future this afternoon – once the first team have concluded their National League season.
On a day when the club bid farewell to icons Ryan Jarvis and Michael Gash, fans could see the next star in the making with the club's Under-16 team in action at The Walks (3.30pm).
Lynn Under-16s take on their counterparts from Lowestoft Town in the last 32 of the National Knockout Cup.
Earlier this month, Lynn's youngsters defeated this afternoon's opponents on penalties in the Junior Premier League, East Region League title play-off.
Since their spot-kick success over Lowestoft, the Under-16s gave current holders Leighton Town a real fright in the National League Southern semi-final earlier this week.
Lynn's youngsters pushed their hosts all the way before losing 2-1, with Charlie Royle on target for the Linnets.
Under-16 manager Andy Rowe said: "Earlier this month, fans were treated to a pulsating game which ended in a dramatic penalty shoot out win for the Linnets, with the atmosphere spurring the boys on!
"A loss tomorrow, would be the end of the season for this group that many have been together for many years including the last four years with myself as coach.
"It would be fantastic to see as many supporters as possible to cheer the boys on, and after the past year, create some much needed positivity and create a superb experience for the boys to carry forward.
"Many of the group will be at the Academy, and these experiences will be great for their development, so King's Lynn Town FC fans, let's come out in force."
Anyone wishing to stay in the ground to watch the Under-16 game after the first team fixture can do so free of charge.
