West Norfolk youngsters complete floor routine and vaulting activity
Twelve schools competed in this year’s School Sports Partnership Keysteps Gymnastics Finals hosted by Eagles Gym.
The event saw students from Years 1/2 complete a floor routine to music and a vaulting activity before the overall scores were added together.
Schools competing were: Dersingham, Clenchwarton, Gayton, Greyfriars, Highgate, Kings Oak, Magdalen, Nelson, Shouldham, West Lynn, South Wootton Infant and Terrington St Clement.
In between the competitive elements, students were given taster sessions on the specialist equipment at Eagles Gym Club, including parallel bars, beam and asymetric bars which proved popular.
Once the scores had been collected, the top three teams were presented with medals by Eagles young leaders who supported pupils throughout the morning on the various types of apparatus.
Bronze medalists were Dersingham, with West Lynn taking silver and South Wootton Infant scooping gold.
Both West Lynn and South Wootton will now represent West Norfolk at the Norfolk School Games Gymnastics Finals on February 12 at the UEA Sportspark in Norwich.
Thanks to Rod Davis and his team of judges and young leaders from Eagles Gym for hosting the competition.
