All female cast rocks panto season in King's Lynn

The Workshop in Lynn is thrilled to announce the return of My First Panto to the stage.

All-In Productions, The Garage in Norwich and The Workshop in Lynn are thrilled to invite families to have a ball with them at My First Panto: Cinderella Rocks.

The production is shattering fairytale clichés like a glass slipper this year, with no prince and an all-female cast of actor-musicians.

The show is aimed at ages seven and under and gets the audiences up and joining in the fun on stage.

The plot features poor Ella who just wants to be a famous rock star, but her sour-faced sisters sabotage her dreams like little Simon Cowells.

The show is led by actor-musicians Sarah Workman, Rebecca Levy and Norfolk performer Rhiannon Hopkins, who panto-lovers may remember from Sleeping Beauty at the Norwich Theatre Royal.

It will be performed at The Garage in Norwich and then audiences can catch it at The Workshop from Wednesday, December 8 to the following Monday (the 13th). Visit theworkshop.org.uk or call 01553 277919.

Adam Taylor, trust’s executive director, said: “Having reopened both sites for our new term of classes, being able to add some seasonal sparkle is the fairy on top of the Christmas tree for us. We can’t wait to hear the theatre full of children laughing, singing and having fun.”

All-In Productions are looking for two young females under the age of 16 to play the role of Squeaker and Nibbles, two mice who help Ella on her journey to stardom. They will pre-record the voices for the mice puppets which will be operated by the cast during the live shows.

People should send a voice recording of no more than 30 second of themselves telling a story they love. It would be ideal if one performer was Norwich-based and the other King’s Lynn-based.

All-In Productions’ Daniel Burgess is writing and directing the show.

He said: “I'm really excited to be able to offer this wonderful opportunity to two talented young people here in the east. They will work with the panto team to create the characters and have the chance to rehearse and develop their voice acting skills.”

Email info@all-inproductions.co.uk by October 10. In person auditions will be on the evening of 15 October 15. Both roles are paid for opportunities.
