Heacham-based amateur dramatics group Pocahontas Players put spin on classic fairytale in upcoming pantomime
A West Norfolk amateur dramatics group is putting a spin on a popular panto, promising to make the audience chuckle.
The Pocahontas Players, based in Heacham, will soon be performing “Gingerella”, a take on the classic children’s fairytale Cinderella.
Player Sharon Yates has put her spin on the panto by offering a redheaded princess, played by Becca Whybrow.
Performances are taking place on Thursday and Friday, January 16 and 17 at 7.30pm as well as on Saturday, January 18 at 2pm and 7.30pm at Heacham Public Hall on Station Road.
The performance is directed by Peter Everingham with assistance from Jim Race, along with musical director Ellie Clayton, costumes from Aleta Harrison, Sharon Yates and Janice Curtis, sound and lights by Dave Curtis, props by Dave Curtis, Jim Race and Mick Yates, and back stage crew of Jim Race and Barry Shaw.
Other performers include two ugly sisters played by Levvis Dallison and Mark Collins, as well as King Norbert and Queen Grace, played by Gary Pearce and Amanda Buckingham.
