Are you game for a family day out at Sandringham?
The popular Sandringham Game and Country Fair returns September 7 and 8, which is a haven for country sports enthusiasts and a wonderful day out for the family.
The show welcome back to Sandringham the wonderfully popular Shire Horse Society, who will have their own village where you can meet these magnificent horses and ask as many questions as you like.
They will also be demonstrating in the Andy Singleton Arena with a variety of nostalgic drays and carts.
There is the incredible Moment in Time Team, who combine living history re-enactment displays.
For the children there is plenty to do: from a free 20-minute fishing lesson, through to learning how to use a rifle in the unique inflatable Daisy Range.
They may prefer to fly a bird of prey; create a pot or similar work of art. They will love cheering the ferret racing, meeting the cute hamsters, or playing in Fiery Jack’s Interactive Games Museum.
There are special classes for children in the Waggy Tails Fun Dog Show, which is open to any breed, as is the Chase the Bunny Competition. For gun dogs there are multi-scurries and training clinics. The arena in the dog zone is given over entirely to displays, of various sizes and breeds.
In the other arenas, the Horseboarding UK teams hold their next international heats, where competitors are pulled around an obstacle course on a skateboard type contraption by a galloping horse!
Another exciting act is the new Medieval to Modern Falconry Display with Ben Long, from the side-saddle lure training of Tudor times, to the technological wizardry of ‘RoboCrow’.
There will be a huge field of steam engines; military/emergency vehicles and the Sherwood Jaguars.
Of course there are the popular craft marquees and demonstrations; ‘Food Glorious Food’ area, and so much more. To save money with advance tickets, please visit: sandringhamgameand countryfair.co.uk/tickets/
