Oyez, Oyez, Oyez! On Saturday, July 25, Lynn Museum’s new temporary exhibition Art of the Mart: Savage’s, Famous Fairground Makers of Lynn, opens to the public.
The exhibition looks at the art, craft and design of the Mart funfair with a focus on Savage’s Ltd, Lynn’s famous merry-go-round makers.
There will be a chance to see items which have never been on display before including original drawings and templates.
To celebrate, there will be a fun family event day on the opening day of July 25, with a chance to try your hand at juggling and have a go at making your own fairground treats.
A storyteller will be on hand to share his tales and visitors can design their own fairground galloper. There will also be a museum activity trail inspired by the new exhibition.
Activities start at 10am and visitors can join in anytime until 4pm. All activities are included with museum admission; museum pass holders and Children’s University members are free.
Lynn Museum also has an exciting summer holiday events programme on offer and for further information visit www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/Vist_Us/Lynn_Museum or telephone 01553 775001.
