Watlington’s annual village fete was tested by the British summer weather on Saturday.
But organiser Penny Cooke said: “It went exceedingly well, until the thunder and lightning came anyway. Thankfully we had most events in by then, and everyone said how much they enjoyed it.”
The day, which was hosted at the village’s recreation ground, involved a range of activities from sports to face-painting and a car boot sale to live music.
The funds raised will go towards five different community projects including: new furniture for the village hall, the football club, the millenium group green as well as next year’s fete.
