Band with West Norfolk links set to release latest single 'Rewind' this week

A band with West Norfolk links is set to release its eighth UK single this week, which encourages listeners to “reconnect with their true selves”.

The latest single from Serenade The Stars, an indie/pop/rock band, called ‘Rewind’ will be available to stream and purchase from digital stores and platforms from Friday.

Guitarist and songwriter Damian Carruthers lives in Hunstanton and takes inspiration for many of his songs from his childhood in Norfolk.

The band’s new song comes following the success of their last single ‘Heart Shaped Parachute’, which paid homage to key workers and NHS staff who kept the world turning during the worst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Rewind also marks the first single the band has released since signing a songwriting and publishing deal with Streets Music Publishing.

Lyrics from the latest song include the line: “Rewind, to a time when we had those forgotten nights again, you’ll find, yourself, your soul, your reason to begin.”

The band says Rewind, a poetic, guitar-infused pop ballad, encourages listeners to “connect with their true self and go back to better times” which will “resonate with many people”.

A spokesperson for Serenade The Stars said: “Many of us have become lost over recent months, even years.

“We have forgotten the people we once were and are struggling to find our place in the world more so than ever before.

“Lockdown has given us all so much time to think, we will be going back into a changed world.

“Many of us have let the world change us, whilst growing up.

“Perhaps it is now time to reconnect with not only our true selves, but with the friends we lost touch with along the way.”

Rewind will be available to stream and purchase from all digital stores from Friday.
