Battle of the Bands returns to King's Lynn

Twisted Melon Battle Of The Bands is back this weekend for its 10th, and hopefully best, year.

As always it’s a non-profit event put on purely to promote unsigned acts and get them performing packed events and ultimately radio airplay and a performance at Festival Too.

Not only that, the finalists get to perform at a number of other great festivals across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, including the VW Whitenoise Festival at Norwich Showground.

Alongside the main battle of the bands there is also a solo/duo competition with the same great prize of a Festival Too slot. The format of the main Battle Of The Bands runs like this ...

Heats consisting of four acts will run throughout February, March and April with each act performing a 30-minute set.

The winning act progresses to the semi-finals and receives airplay on KL.FM. The semi-finals are split across two live shows as well as the regular KL.FM semi-final show. Two acts then progress from each semi plus the best third place act to give us a five-band final.

Finally the winners perform the main stage on the final night of this summer’s Festival Too. There are also slots for the runner-up as well as the solo/duo act.

Other goodies for the winners include recording time, a photo shoot, a brand design campaign with main sponsor Rose Ave Design Co and live sessions on KL.FM.
