Fakenham 10th Gin and Beer Festival plus live music including Nelson's Shantymen this weekend
They are getting ready to roll out the barrels and crack open the bottles at Fakenham for the town’s tenth gin and beer festival.
It will take place at the town’s community centre on Friday March 24 and Saturday, March 25 with the promise of a large selection of Norfolk sourced beers, ciders and gins and a programme of live music.
The event will support the town’s community centre and First Focus, Fakenham.
The first pints will be pulled at 7pm on the Friday, staying open until 11pm and on the Saturday the festivities will run from11am to 11pm.
“We are so pleased to support local charities” said organiser Mark Banham “and this year we have more local sponsors wanting to help on our 10th festival”.
He said there will be 25 beers and ciders from across Norfolk, as well as the Black Shuck Gin Bar offering spirits, wine and cocktails. Entry is just £14 for a gin or beer starter kit, which includes a souvenir glass and tokens for three pints or two gins. Entry only is £2; £5 after 6pm.
There will be hot food from Drifters Fish and Chips, plus snacks during Saturday from Katering4U.
And to add to the atmosphere there will be the usual mix of live music across both days: Friday: 7pm, Nelson’s Shantymen and at 9pm The Macarnos. Saturday: noon, Fakenham Ukes, 3pm Martin Day, 6 pm Blusonica and 9pm Audioscene.
